Nothing short of amazing!!! The home was just quite lovely, breakfast left little to be desired, and peaceful enviornment was exactly what we were hoping for! Both myself and my husband look forward to returning soon. The town too held many options of exploration, and there was never a dull moment during our visit. George Brook's home was our first experience of a Bed and Breakfast, and I am glad we lucked out with such a pick! Thanks for such a lovely experience. The Padillas

This is a great place with great staff. The only reason for four stars is that from where we were you could hear everything. So -1 for the feel of a little lack of seclusion we felt.

This is a really nice place located just north of St. Michaels, but yet still within walking distance if so desired. You do hear road noise from Rt. 33, but the rooms are very nice and the breakfast very tasty. All the rooms have A/C and their own bathroom. We didn't use the pool, but they do have one in addition to a hot tub and bicycles to use. georgebrookshouse.com The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the clutter around the house, if that was cleaned up, it would be a clear 5 star B&B.

My husband and I stayed at George Brooks house this weekend to celebrate our third wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful visit. This was our first experience staying at a bed and breakfast and we enjoyed it very much. I searched online at many different B&Bs in St. Michael's in the month leading to this weekend and decided to go with George Brooks House because of the great reviews and price. Some of the other B&Bs in the area were just too pricey to pay for just one night, but this one was priced reasonably well. Also, the other bed and breakfasts are all located in downtown St. Michael and this one is not, but it was a mere TWO minute drive to downtown. Another thing to note is that their website and email are up to date and kept up very nicely, which is not the same for the other bed and breakfasts that I looked up. I spoke to the innkeeper Will a couple times over the phone and through email to secure our reservation. He was very friendly and after I booked the night, I realized that I needed to change the weekend to the following weekend and called him right away and he made the change. Will recommended 208 Talbot for our anniversary dinner and we made a reservation there for dinner. Upon arrival, Will told us that he upgraded our room (originally a queen bed in room # 7, Country Splendor) to #2 Morning Glory which was a queen bed with a fireplace. The fireplace was WONDERFUL for our cold November night. We also enjoyed that this room had a separate entrance to the front (in addition to the entrance from inside the house). Will showed us the wine glasses in the dining area cabinet that we were welcome to use and their DVD collection in case we wanted to watch something in our room. He told us about the muffins that would be served starting at 8 am the next morning and a seated breakfast at 9 am. He asked if we had any dietary restrictions and showed us where the Keurig coffee maker was located. The room itself was very nice and cozy and as it was our first time in a bed and breakfast we felt more personal than in a hotel, and it was nice. There was plenty of shampoo and nice soaps for our showers. We went out for dinner and walked around downtown St. Michael's. It was 6 pm and seemed like the town had shut down except for the restaurants. I knew it was their off season, but it was still funny to walk down the streets and have everything closed so early. We did make it to St. Michael's Winery earlier in the day and enjoyed sampling their wines and hanging out. The next morning we woke up a little after 8 and started to get ready for breakfast. I was in a hurry for the muffins, but my husband moved a little slower and we walked out into the main area shortly before 9 am. There were two other couples in the coffee area and we spoke with them while waiting for our drinks and grabbed a couple muffins (chocolate chip and blueberry) and they were delicious. Will let us know that breakfast was ready and we all made our way to the dining table. We were served melon balls and strawberry first (displayed very nicely in a glass dish) and then Quiche Lorraine afterwards. It was delicious! My only wish was that I could have seconds...and thirds! Will and Julia are excellent hosts and did a great job with breakfast. After breakfast, we grabbed another coffee and muffin and went back to our room to get our things together and hang out. We enjoyed the free wifi (great signal!) and watched a few episodes on Netflix on our laptop and then went to check out. I would have loved to try out their new bikes to ride around on outside and through town, but the weekend's weather was just way too chilly so we did not get to do that. Next time we will have to book in the warmer weather so we can do that and enjoy their swimming pool!
